I was away again today - many thanks to Mme Prendergast for teaching the class. The students reviewed our Dictée words and brainstormed other words with the "oi" sound, then recorded some of these words in their Dictée notebooks and also completed a word search using the Dictée words. They practised reading a short book that showcased the sound "oi". The class practised reading our phonics sheet with their new buddies from Mme DiGeso's class and also played a reading dice game with their partners. In Social Studies, they talked about the community and the different types of jobs in the community. They discussed some of the jobs they think they might want to have when they grow up and drew pictures of these jobs in their Social Studies notebooks. They played outside at the primary playground with students in Mme Walman's class after lunch for their outdoor Gym time. In Math, they played a math game with a partner to practise their "friendly" facts to 10.
